CAD-to-CAM Process Development

Design Systems, Inc. was recently contracted by a large global industrial company to support them with the development of a standardized process for a tube bender machine. The DSI team was tasked with evaluating, validating, and documenting the entire process – from CAD through CAM. A Book of Knowledge was developed that describes the process and software requirements to convert engineering SolidWorks designs into an Eaton Leonard machine code and deliver the new code to the machine via the established Ethernet Network. Supporting this facility with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering services, the project team was able to establish a defined, repeatable process that will benefit the plant for years to come.
